Dr. Furman joined the Deaconess Chancellor Center in February of 2009. She received her medical degree and completed her internship and residency from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Before moving to Newburgh, Dr. Furman worked at Sharp Memorial Hospital, the premier cancer treatment center in San Diego, California as a radiation oncologist.
Dr. Furman’s special areas of interest include breast, lung, gynecological, and central nervous system cancers. She is experienced in stereotactic radiosurgery (cranial and extra-cranial), High Dose Rate (HDR) and Low Dose Rate (LDR) Brachytherapy, 3-D treatment planning, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image Guided RadioTherapy (IGRT). She treats patients at both centers, but spends most of her time at the Deaconess Chancellor Center. |
