Saturday, March 1st was the Vanderburgh Medical Alliance’s Doctors’ Day at the Museum where close to 2,000 kids, parents, and grandparents came through in the course of a three hour period. Evansville Cancer Center/Vantage Oncology was proud to be a Silver Sponsor of this event where our theme was ‘Block the Sun, NOT the Fun!’ We had two DermaScan machines, we had kids make bracelets out of UV sensitive beads, we did demonstrations with a UV sensitive Frisbee supplied to us by the EPA, we gave out sunscreen courtesy of Del-Ray Blue Lizard, we had plenty of educational materials we handed out (again thanks to EPA, Del-Ray, Schering-Plough and the American Cancer Society), and fun things for the kids to register to win. The day went by fast and hopefully we reached some people young and old with a very important message of prevention!
